This is achieved when a high voltage is driven through the Cerafusion™ Cartridge. The high optimal energy passing through induces the production of Active Oxygen.

Active Oxygen is one of nature’s most powerful sterilizing forces. These nature’s natural air cleaners react with pollutants and odours to convert them into harmless by-products such as carbon dioxide and water; bind onto the cell walls of germs and kill them; cause dust particles to clump together and fall to the floor; and confer health benefits to humans.

The metallic smell is caused by the oxidation process. However, smell should not be used to determine the effectiveness of the device. Smell is very subjective and can vary from one location to another and at different times. A rough indication to determine if the device is operating is to detect hissing sounds from the unit. Place the unit next to your ear to detect the hissing sounds.

When the unit is switched on, by default – the LED light indicators will be lit. This indicates that the unit is operating. In addition, you should hear a slight hissing sound coming out from the unit.

Smell should not be used to determine the effectiveness of the device. Smell is very subjective and can vary from one location to another and at different times. A rough indication to determine if the device is operating is to detect hissing sounds from the unit. Place the unit next to your ear to detect the hissing sounds.

If you have been using the device for more than 12 months, please replace a new Cerafusion™ Cartridge.

If there is no hissing sound after replacing a new Cerafusion™ Cartridge, contact your authorized MedKlinn Service Centre to have the device checked.

Please place the device under or next to a source of air circulation such as a fan or an air conditioner for best performance – the air current will help to disperse the Active Oxygen much quicker throughout the room.

Also, it is highly recommended to place the unit as least 2 feet from your no-repeatmal sitting or sleeping position as well as table top height.

MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer is designed to be always ON - operating 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. The device is meant to be left on all the time so that it can continuously clean your indoor spaces around the clock. This means that your indoor air and surfaces are being cleaned and refreshed throughout the day and night, reducing the dangers of air pollutants, airborne germs and dust particles to you and your family.

It is highly recommended that the device is kept in one room all the time. This will allow continuous cleaning of the air and surfaces within that room and ensure that it is always clean and fresh. Moving the device from room to room will prevent this round the clock cleaning.

Use a dry or damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the device.

You may notice that after the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer has been turned on in a room for a few days that the floor is dustier. This indicates that the Active Oxygen has caused dust particles normally suspended in the air to clump together and fall to the ground. This removes harmful and allergy-causing particles from the air so that they can no longer be breathed into the lungs and cause harm. Continue with your usual vacuuming or mopping to remove the dust from the floor.

First, check if the Cerafusion™ Cartridge is properly inserted into the cartridge holder. If it is properly inserted and there is still no hissing sound, replace a new Cerafusion™ Cartridge or contact your authorized MedKlinn Service Centre to have the unit checked.

It is perfectly safe to leave the device running even when the house is empty. In fact, leaving the unit on will ensure that the indoor air and surfaces are kept clean and fresh, and also prevent fungal growth and musty smells developing. Just ensure that the ventilation slots of the unit are not covered so that excessive heat will not build up.

When you use the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer, your indoor spaces will be cleaner and fresher than the outdoors especially if you are living in the city. Do not worry about the level of oxygen as there is always a constant flow and exchange of air from your room with the outside from the opening and closing as well as gaps in the door. Even with windows and door closed, the percentage of oxygen will always be maintained at around 21%. The MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer is very effective in removing any smell or mustiness normally associated with closed rooms.

It is fine to use MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer with an air conditioner. Most of the ionizers incorporated into air conditioners generate minimal amount of negative ions, and are therefore not effective in cleaning the indoor air. In addition, since most air conditioners are not in use continuously, indoor air is only cleaned intermittently. However, with the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer, round the clock cleaning takes place, and therefore the indoor spaces are always refreshed.

This is dependent upon the orientation of the room with respect to the sun. It can obviously get hot and stuffy during the day. However, in any urban situation, opening the windows can be extremely hazardous as it allows pollution to continually enter the room.

After a day or so of operating the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer in an enclosed room, you will notice that your floor is dustier than usual. Active Oxygen is removing the dust from the air so that you are not breathing it in, and therefore not causing harm to you. With regular cleaning, and keeping windows and doors closed, the dust accumulating on the floor will be less and less. This is an indication that airborne dust and other pollutants have been reduced. If you suffer with allergies due to house dust mite, you may also notice your allergies improve substantially with continued use of the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer, as the allergens in the air and on your bedding are destroyed by Active Oxygen.

Research has shown that Active Oxygen is able to bind to dust mite and cat allergens and change their 3-dimensional ‘structure’. Once this structure has been altered, the allergen is no longer able to provoke an allergic reaction in a susceptible/sensitized individual. So if a person’s sinus/allergic rhinitis/asthma is brought on by sensitivity to these allergens, the likelihood is that by using the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer, such attacks can be markedly reduced. This is through the action of Active Oxygen generated by MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer. Unlike air filters, which only removes the allergens from the air that is drawn through the machine, the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer disperses Active Oxygen throughout a room, ridding not only allergens from the air, but also from exposed surfaces like bedding, curtains and carpets. That is why MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer is so effective in dealing with allergic conditions brought on by dust mite and other allergens.

In addition, Active Oxygen also binds to mould spores and pollen in the air, and cause them to fall to the floor. In this way, it removes these allergy provoking substances from being breathed in, and again reduces the likelihood of allergic attacks.

Note, however, that the MedKlinn Air+Surface Sterilizer will NOT be able to help those individuals whose rhinitis or asthma are brought on by variation in temperature, stress or other non-allergic causes.
